Overview

SUMMARY

The Sales Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring all occupancy, sales, use, personal property and property tax requirements are meet while adhering to company’s policies and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Included, but not limited to, are the following: other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Manages sales, local and property tax return filings for the assigned properties.
  2. Ensures that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness.
  3. Ensure that company is following all state and local tax law as it relates to sales and property tax filings.
  4. Oversees all tax-related filings and related payments for the designated properties.
  5. Collect, review for accuracy and store property backup for tax exemptions.
  6. In charge of data entry, validation, and processing of various types of returns.
  7. Track the status of all tax returns taking place for the assigned properties.
  8. Be active on the customer service front and be quick and accurate with communication.
  9. Liaison with outside consultants regarding property tax protest filings.
  10. Oversee all sales and local tax audits.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree in accounting and/or 3+ years of sales tax experience. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None required

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong written and verbal communication skills
