Location Description

Overview

Provides direction and leadership to Spa Staff.  Responsible for monitoring spa facilities, and ensuring positive and friendly guest relations. Observes all activity within assigned areas helping and instruction to guests/visitors.

Nalu Kinetic Spa, Fitness Center and Salon

Job involves working:

  • under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
  • under variable noise levels.
  • outdoors/indoors.
  • around fumes and/or odor hazards.
  • around dust and/or mite hazards.
  • around chemicals.

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

 

Internal:                           Staff in Spa, Fitness Center, Pool, Food and Beverage, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Finance and Property Operations..

 

External:                          Hotel guests and visitors, vendors

 

YOUR ROLE:

 

  1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  2. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  3. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  4. Always maintain positive guest relations.
  5. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  6. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  7. Maintain complete knowledge of property management system and manual procedures.
  8. Ensure staff maintains computer security.
  9. Maintain Logbook/Memo Board
  10. Maintain notes and guest history in property management system.
  11. Maintain communications with spa staff and other departments.
  12. Anticipate and prepare for daily/weekly business needs.
  13. Inspect reception desk area.
  14. Inspect spa.
  15. Ensure spa staff is knowledgeable on all pertinent spa and hotel/casino information.
  16. Assist spa desk staff as needed.
  17. Ensure staff adheres to cash bank procedures.
  18. Check posting of charges.
  19. Monitor reservations procedures.
  20. Monitor VIPs.
  21. Monitor wait lists.
  22. Research disputed charges.
  23. Monitor the spa for undesirable visitors.
  24. Maintain and adhere to OSHA/MSDS regulations.
  25. Ensure staff’s certification cards are kept current.
  26. Be familiar with and set up as needed hotel/spa packages, promotions, prices and rates.
  27. Maintain filing system.
  28. Maintain storeroom pars and monitor requisitions.
  29. Sign out staffmembers.
  30. Close out end of shift.
  31. Serve our guests.
  32. Serve the other Turtle Bay Resort team members who serve our guests.
  33. Perform all functions as directed – you are a member of the entire Turtle Bay Resort team, not just a member of your department.
  34. Take personal responsibility to ensure the success of the team – the team succeeds because of your actions.
  35. Always put the team objectives ahead of your personal agenda.
  36. Perform the security and safety function of all Turtle Bay Resort staff members to ensure the security and safety of all guests and of all fellow staffmembers - be vigilant for all safety/security issues, correct and/or report all issues immediately.
  37. Perform the housekeeping function of all Turtle Bay Resort staff members – keep your work area clean and neat, and correct and/or report any housekeeping issues outside of your work area in the public and heart-of-the-house areas as you encounter.
  38. Perform your sales function – all Turtle Bay Resort staff members are sales people for the company and for the property - be knowledgeable of Turtle Bay Resort and of all aspects of your property, and always present both in the best light to guests and to the community at large.
  39. Perform your community ambassador function – get involved in your community and represent Turtle Bay Resort and your property well.
  40. Always speak first and speak last to guests in a friendly, courteous manner – every guest encounter should include this.
  41. Always greet co-workers in the same friendly, courteous manner – never pass a fellow staffmember without acknowledgement.
  42. Deal with all guests and fellow Turtle Bay Resort staff members with respect and honesty.
  43. Always present yourself properly in the workplace – full uniform including name badge, dress/uniforms always clean and pressed, personal grooming always up to standard.

 

 

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Assist with other Spa job functions as needed.
  2. Document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager/Director.

 

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

 

Essential:

 

Exert physical effort in transporting up to (50 pounds). Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas. Reach three feet. Remain an upright or a stationary position for more than 6 hours per day. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
